Congratulations to Carolyn Wilson, 2018 SpinSheet Century Club Member!
My name is Carolyn Wilson. I am a sailor. I began sailing in the summer of 2017. Since then I have become completely immersed in the world of sailing. I love the idea of the SpinSheet Century Club because I really think it is a great way to get people of all ages out on the water. This past year, I clocked 162 days between March and November out on the water, between small boat sailing in 420s or FJs for my high school, sailing on a VX1 named Water Rat, and sailing on a J/105 called Rakali.
I participated in high school regattas in the spring and fall. I was a summer sailing camp instructor at the Southern Maryland Sailing Asscoiation. I also sailed in and flew a spinnaker in this year’s insane Screwpile race in which the boat I am on won in our class. I participated in weekly racing where I developed my skills flying spinnaker and skippering the keelboat, and raced in other formal races throughout the season.
This year has been a great year for me. I am looking forward to the next!
