Here’s your racing roundup for June 24-25, Summer Sailstice weekend on the Chesapeake Bay.

In case you were too busy sailing to watch it, here is the America’s Cup short-version video for Saturday and Sunday. Just one more race win from today’s two scheduled races on Bermuda’s Great Sound would be enough for Emirates Team New Zealand to reach the seven points required to win the America’s Cup, and take the ‘Auld Mug’ 9,135 miles back to New Zealand from Bermuda.... Oh boy, time to start biting your nails off, people.

The Miles River Yacht Club hosted its Fourth of July Log Canoe Series June 24 (yes, you read that correctly… 4th, 24th, whatever).

VET CUP RESCHEDULED FOR THIS COMING SATURDAY, JULY 1.  Veterans Cup Regatta officials postponed the annual Langley Yacht Club event scheduled for this past Saturday after predictions of howling wind and unsettled weather dominated by meteorological  reports on Friday. Announcing the change, LYC Race Captain Gary Herbert said that  “Everything for the race is Same/Same except for a 1 week slip, and the NOR shows updated registration info.  Awards Party is also Same/Same (Salt Ponds, 7 pm, free dogs/side dishes/beer/soda/etc) except the date is Sunday July 2.” 

As for the  REGISTRATION & SKIPPER’S MEETING: Registration remains open until 7 pm, Friday, June 30.  Register online and contact John Ritter 757 329-6992 for updates and to review Sailing Instructions.
