So much is being said right now about the Jersey Shore nursing papers and what can be done about it. And since the vast majority of the discussion revolves around the boardwalk, we were thrilled to see a great marine company step forward with a plan to look at the coastline from the water.
Navionics is partnering with the Marine Trades Association of New Jersey, West Marine, and other New Jersey businesses to help remap the state coastline drastically changed by Superstrom Sandy. To help launch the project, a three-day event called The Sandy Project brings together local boaters July 19-21 to gather sonar logs and other cartographic data, which will then be combined with Navionics' mapping resources to build updated charts. The charts will be available shortly after the event through the SonarCharts layer within Navionics products and on an app.
If you are a Jersey boater, or know of someone who is, share this message and help be a part of a great project.
