Solo Sailor Not Making Radio Contact

Early in his 160-mile Laser journey, Suhay in the Southern Bay as the wind was just filling in.

Many of you may have heard about Robert Suhay's next record-breaking attempt to sail solo 300 miles on his Laser. He departed on Sunday at 5:08 a.m. from Norfolk for his voyage to Chestertown, MD, and back. Apparently, he has had no radio contact for 24 hours. The US Coast Guard has been notified. Southern Bay sailors keep your eyes open.

***LAST UPDATE 10:56: a USCG member reported that Suhay was spotted by a container ship at 5:30 am near the mouth of the Potomac. The waypoints on his website have been turned yellow, assuming he is fine. Looks as if he has a glitchy phone.

Here's the website about his adventure (with updated information)

We will keep you posted.

Here's a blog post we ran by Robert last summer.
