Shopping for sailors is a tricky thing. The biggest problem is that we're minimalists when it comes to the boat, and even the best stuff becomes clutter. However, there are certain items that are simply non-negotiable must haves.
NOAA recently announced that it will be halting its printing and publication of paper charts, so now is the time to buy. Although we've completely gone mobile with our phones, iPads, glasses, and watches, we still appreciate flipping through our charts whether we're on or off the water. You'll still be able to get the charts via on demand printing and PDFs, but if you want the traditional chart catalogs, you have to shop now.
