Is it just us, or does this work week seem like it's been a few days longer than normal? Maybe it was memories of the long July 4 weekend taunting us, but here at SpinSheet we sure are glad it's almost the weekend! We've found some events that are sure to be a blast, and we hope we see you out and about celebrating the weather and the awesome Bay culture we love so much. Have fun!
What's SUP Paddlers?: This weekend the Eastport Yacht Club and East of Maui Boardshop are joining to hold a Stand Up Paddling challenge (or, a SUP challenge). There are two different courses that can be taken; one for beginners and one for the more experienced. Afterwards, there will paddling lessons and demonstrations, so if you don't want to participate in the morning you can still get out on the water. On your Market, Get Set… EAT!: St. Michaels, MD is such a beautiful place to begin with, and this Saturday the town is upping the ante by hosting a Freshfarm Market from 8:30 – 11 a.m. Fresh vegetables, meats, cheese, breads, pastries and flowers… this sounds like an event I want to take home to my kitchen! The market is attended by locals, weekenders and boaters, so take some time to enjoy this market and the charm St. Michaels always provides. Talbot Events has more information.
Phew, TGI…OV?: Thank Goodness It’s Ocean View is technically an ongoing summer beach concert series, but it sounds so cool that we couldn’t 
resist sharing the information. This music series features a free concert , food, drink, children’s games and cornhole competitions every Friday. On July 12, a group named Atlantic Group will be playing. This is sure to be a blast; nothing beats celebrating the warm weather and soaking in the beautiful Bay scenery. Oh... and did we mention it’s free?! Come out from 6-9:30 p.m. and put your cornhole skills to the test! Check it out here.
It’s the Cruising Season: We are so glad it’s the season for relaxing afternoon cruises, especially because on Sunday, July 14, a wine tasting cruise departing from the Marriot Annapolis Waterfront is being offered. From 2-5 p.m. you are invited to relax on a 74 ft schooner while tasting four samples of wine along with hors d’oeuvres. We think this is a fantastic way to conclude your weekend. “Raising the Bar”… Literally: This Friday, July 12 in Downtown Norfolk, Virginia there is what could possibly the most enticing combination of events ever- there’s a live music and beer sampling festival that benefits children impacted by HIV/AIDS. Admission to the AT&T Summer BrewFest is free, and beer-sampling tickets will be available, so get together with some friends or coworkers and celebrate the fact that it’s the weekend!
