We received a great letter from SpinSheet reader Matt Wienold, who tipped us off to the fact that local sailors Bob Rutsch and Mike Costello of Bebop have taken their show on the road to the J/30 North Americans in Westport, CT. From Matt:
Long time (31 years) Bebop owners Bob Rutsch and Mike Costello found a loaner boat (named Pale Rider) available to them for the recent North American Championships held at Cedar Point Yacht Club in Westport Connecticut.
Despite the unfamiliar boat, widely varying conditions, and lots of equipment breakage, they competed hard against the tight fleet and placed second overall, conceding by only one point.
