Once Chesapeake Bay sailors hear about the 14-year-old global sailing celebration, the Summer Sailstice, they will forever change their pronunciation of the word “solstice.” This Saturday, June 21, sailors all around the world will be heading out on the water for a day of celebration!
Participants in the Summer Sailstice come from the sailing hubs of the world, such as Annapolis, MD, San Francisco, CA, and Newport, RI, and as far away as Mexico, Israel, and the Marshall Islands.
Not only will sailors enjoy relaxing on a sailboat on a summer’s day with the knowledge that they’re joining an international celebration of the sport, but Sailstice registrants also qualify for prizes ranging from $50 life jackets to $5,000 week long sailing vacations in the British Virgin Islands.
For those who would love to participate in this global celebration, but are new to sailing, Harbor expert, Pat Lane, invites you to celebrate the Sailstice aboard the Harbor 20! These intuitive and affordable daysailors made by W.D. Schock are designed to be rigged within minutes and can be sailed single-handedly or with a group. To reserve your spot, call (410)267-08181 anytime and ask for Vera or Pat.
Sailors can even add their sailing plans here to be automatically entered to win prizes, or log in here to support Sailors for the Sea, a nonprofit organization that educates boaters about protecting the ocean.
