Wow... they say as you get older the years go by faster. For me that is now a reality. It feels like just a few weeks ago I was getting my anual first day on the water on January 1st, and now here we are in September already with fall almost in the air. As with every year on my boat Barba Roja, my team and friends cruse during the off race season and hit the course hard and fast the rest. This year so far has been good to me. We won the double handed race with SMSA with my friend Jay Ball against all A and B fleet boats, we won or fleet in this years Gov Cup also taking the Waldschmidt award, took second place finishes at SMSA's The Patuxant Pursuit and FBYC's Stingray Point Regatta to name a few of our accomplishments. Owning this sailboat has brought me a world of fun, new friends, great memories and deffinitly challenges faced and conquered! This entry will account for 92 of this years days with tommorows Rum Runner Regatta being the 92nd. The first year I owned my boat, it felt like it was tied to the dock more then it was away from the dock. I found out about the Spinsheet 100 days Century Club, and that became my first sailing goal of many over the past 10+ years. Ive continued it every year and I belive it has inspired others like Bob Ohler, Dave Ohler, Johnathan Napini, and others to also take on the challenge. Some of my friends like Johnathan really took the bull by the horns and have out did me a number of those years. I am by no means done running this years count to 100 and beyond... but this is my one entry so far this year to catch up to so many sailors on here who religiously enter their days. Here's to more sailing and those beatuiful days on the water...cheers!
92 days from January 1st thru September 12th
