Century Club: Antoinette Wilkins
Hoist sails, run lines, drain antifreeze
Of course it has to be blowing almost 20kts! got some help backing her in the slip first time for the season.
Lots of chores to prepare for splash date in early April
- retouch antifoul piant on hull (2/20/2023 and 2/23/2023)
- sand, lube and repaint antifoul on prop, new zinc (3/17 and 3/18/2023)
- polish and wax hull (2 coats) (3/21/2023)
- remove interior hull liner
Ditched boat work to take advantage of uncharacterisiticly warm day in November. it was too nice a day not to go out and sail the bay.
Took boat out of the slip to grab on a mooring ball so that I could dive and clean the hull water line and the prop.
Entered the Fall Race to Oxford, CRCA A class, wind was on the light side and the course was shortened and we never even got to sail up the Choptank. Sailed/motored to TAYC and enjoyed the party afterwards the next morning our start time was 8:40 and now the winds were 17-20kts once we got on the first windward leg of the course. After that it was all downwind to the finish and all the way home to Rock Hall. Did about 40miles in 7 hours, average speed 6kts. At times we were surfing the waves and reached over 9kts!
