Beautiful and mostly breezy day on the Potomac for the Regatta's "Two Bridges" pursuit race (8.75 NM).

Blowing about 10 from the NW; chilly when clouds obscure the sun.
Notice change to the bouyage; green cans were renumbered and one can was removed. Looks like the Tuesday night KISS series starting line government mark, red 6, is slated to be "discontinued", according to a USCG publication. DISC will need to revise their Middile Courses because of these changes.
Half dozen boats ignored dire weather forecasts of 30 knot gusts and torrential rains spawned by Ian's remnants to race down to Mt Vernon and back (9 NM). Winds were 9 to 14 knots with gusts just over 20 knots. A couple of light showers kept things moist but didn't impair visibility.
We took second.
First (and last) time on a McGregor 26!
Raced in the nonspin fleet and won all three races! Barely a breeze for all three races but the temperature was in the mid-70s. Pleasant weather.
Took a friend out with a strong 15 knot NW breeze. We got up to 6.5 knots with just the mainsail flying. Beautiful weather.
