Light easterly winds and lots of powerboat wake made jibing frustrating at times as we sailed north along the Potomac. After getting to where the Potomac and Anacostia merge we had enough east-west area to Practise. Powerboats and commercial boats churned the water.

Beautiful weather today. Wind blowing 12-13 knots near Old Town Alexandria. Tall ship Providence motored down the river to her berth in Old Town.
Took two crew out today to practice with the A-spin. Breeze was a forgiving 8-10 knots and mistake made didn't result in dire situations! The highlight was a long run up the river that required multiple jibes which I hope produced some "muscle memory".
Little to no wind on the Potomac for the regatta but the skies were overcast so at least we didn't get sunburned. The post-race party more than made up for the hum drum sailing conditions.
Fickle breeze and power boats not honoring the "no wake" zone of off Old Town Alexandria made for some bumpy sailing at times. Took my wife out for her first sail of the season.
