First sail of the season with our 1986 Hunter 28.5. Yay!
What a wonderful evening, calm waters, little to no boat traffic, a few scattered fishermen along the waters of Stoney Creek. Some great moments, silent, Sun setting with precious winged water creatures: black, blue, and even the purest white. Beautiful, God's creation and creatures, just beautiful and all for our enjoyment. Beautiful, I say, beautiful!
Allison and I headed out for a casual peddle out near the Fire Smallwood Draw Bridge. There was a good deal of folks out on the creek cruising, others were rafting up prepping to view the fire works. Many were leaping off their boats enjoying a swim, the beaches were packed with families grilling, playing and wading in the cool evening waters. There were at least three large floatilles of kayaks paddling to the spot they'd enjoy fire works from, one huge group of 16 paddlers was outfitted with running lights, ready for paddling in the dark. All in all, it was one wonderful day on Stoney Creek.
Friday & Saturday,
Boat work, cleaned and oiled interior teak, it's been years since it received that kind of care, new to me Hunter, Metamorphoo. Looking nice, check the engine fluids, filters and started the 16 horse power Yanmar for the first time this year, started immediately on the first crank, after a surprisingly shore turn of the key, yay! Now that made me happy!
