Another sunny day with a departure temperature of 50 degrees warming up to 73 degrees in the afternoon. Winds varied in direction and speed from 0 - 10 knots. With only 36 six miles to go, I chose to average 5 knots under sail and power. That meant numerous sail deployments and throttle adjustments. It was fun! When we got to the Waccamaw River, it was a 2 knot current against us so I up the boat speed to 6 knots resulting in a total travel time of 8 hours. Our destination was scenic and secluded. The Navionics anchorage guide said beware of alligators so we opted not to take a dinghy ride.
Anchorage: Prince creek off the Waccamaw River
Distance today: 36 nm
Distance to date: 665 nm
