Elvira on her first rainbow
I met the parent of a junior sailor at the AYC summer programs award ceremony, and she'd never really sailed before. I invited her out on a rainbow and this was her first time driving and working the sheets. I hope to see her out on the water again!
Then, later, I got a last minute invitation from my friend Todd to sail on his century old schooner, Tom Swift. I was able to go out with my youngest, and he drove most of the way. What a... Just... Words fail me, I'm literally speechless as I speak this into my phone. The boat is absolutely gorgeous, a window into maritime history with a powerful personal connection to Todd. His knowledge of sailing rubs off almost by osmosis, I become a better sailor every time we hang out. An absolutely wonderful evening, thank you Todd.
