They say you can’t change the wind, but you can change your sails. Learn about points of sail, how to trim and change your sails, and so much more with a day of boater education called Spring Training, to be held on Saturday, April 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold, MD.

Enjoy a day full of sailing and boating programs to include rules of the road, anchoring, docking, boat handling under power, basic navigation, knots, boat systems, and more. From novice to experienced and from skipper to crew, education on topics such as fitness for boating, emergencies on the water, onboard communication, and safety are part of enjoying your boating opportunities.

This educational program is organized by the Singles on Sailboats (SOS) sailing club and is open to the general public. We welcome club members, non-members, married, single, or whatever. Whether you are highly experienced or just thinking you might be interested in learning more about sailing, you can learn more SOS’s Chesapeake cruising program well as our international bareboat sailing opportunities. Or, just come to enjoy a day of boater education. Learn more at singlesonsailboats.org and click on the Spring Training links.
