Funny how we joked that the first start of the Governor's Cup Yacht Race on Friday in five knots was a "nailbiter," when in the end, sailors had a wild ride! The wind kicked in bigtime in the night, and competitors faced a rainy, bumpy, windy ride to remember.
Here's a pic of the gang at the awards ceremony Saturday night giving their best roller coaster "woo!" for SpinSheet. Congratulations to a few hundred competitors who endured a tough 70-mile overnight race and the sleep deprivation built into it and then came down to St. Mary's to party! Sail on!
