Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race Begins

With all the hype surrounding the Annapolis Boat Shows, it's easy to forget one significant event that gets underway in between them... The Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race festivities begin today in Baltimore with a Captain's Meeting (13:00), Parade of Sail (17:00), and All Hands Party (18:00). The race itself begins off Annapolis, just south of the Bay Bridge tomorrow, October 15, at 13:00. If you have never found your way out to the start, get yourself on a boat! Where else can you see 35 schooners in one place? They will race 120 nautical miles through the night to Portsmouth, VA. Find the full schedule of festivities here. Find the 2015 fleet here.
