EWE Spirit Foundation Makes an Impact

Let's live like EWE did!

This would be a fantastic day to do some good in the world and honor the legacy of Geoff Ewenson. Today, July 13, 2022 would have been Geoff's 52nd birthday. In his honor, the EWE Spirt Foundation is making a difference in the lives of those most in need, and you can help by supporting the foundation.

The local nonprofits to which EWE Spirit makes grants do amazing work and have an immediate impact on those they serve. Since its first grant given in March of 2021, EWE Spirit has given $180,000 to 12 nonprofit organizations across the country who are helping those in immediate need. From new moms to new Americans, EWE Spirit has touched many lives. Learn more about these deserving organizations and how your contribution can help change lives for the better while honoring Geoff's legacy. And, when you buy and wear EWE Spirit swag, make a donation, or just spread the word, snap a photo and post with #ewespirit.

Honoring the Legacy of Geoff Ewenson

A pro sailor, loving husband, son, and brother, friend to all, and all-around great person, Geoff died unexpectedly of a heart attack at age 50. It was and is tragic, but his spirit lives on. The mission of the  EWE Spirt Foundation is to help those facing immediate hardship bridge financial and social support gaps through mentorship, outreach, and financial assistance, thus creating a kind world where everyone has the resources and opportunity to live with dignity, hope, and joy. What a worthy cause.

Sailors who knew Geoff recognize the distinctive "EWE" lettering.

Sailors around the world who knew the Annapolis sailor recognize the distinctive “EWE” lettering with which he marked his lifejackets and other gear. After his sudden passing on October 14, 2020, close friends banded together and created “EWE” stickers, which became available on Facebook for donations for causes honoring Geoff’s joyful and giving spirit. Although she was not involved with the stickers, Geoff’s wife (and SpinSheet publisher), Mary Ewenson, was moved by the gesture and the quick spread of stickers around town. She said, “Geoff loved stickers, and he loved branding our gear with that EWE! It’s the perfect tribute.” Now that lettering represents all the good EWE and you can do! We encourage everyone to check out EWE Spirit.
