The music of Jimmy Buffett on Broadway? You bet. The tunes of your favorite laid-back singer are featured in the Broadway musical Escape to Margaritaville.
The show, which opened in February, features music and lyrics by Buffett, and tells the story of a partime singer and bartender living life large in, wait for it.... a warm, beach-side destination. Life gets more complicated and the plot thickens when two female guests arrive from Ohio.
Although initial reviews of the show have been less than stellar, a night of Hawaiian shirts, flip-flops, and rum drinks sounds like just the ticket for Parrott Heads visiting the Big Apple. Sales, reportedly somehat slow this spring, have been stronger for the summer months, which, after all, is when Buffett fans are at their best. Click here for more details and tickets.
