SV Tintin's Unicorn & T Snowy: Summer Up North

Baltimore to Cape May: 23hr

Cape May to Block Island: 34hr

  • Set a straight shot way point, unfuled the sails, GO!
  • No tacks
  • No engine
  • Just beautiful offshore sailing 

Block Island to Newport, RI: 4hr

  • Morring ball from the harbormaster right off of Ft Adams
  • Bobby was our tour guide and we were his dinner guests
  • Cliff walk, Marbel House, and dinner at Brick Alley both wonderful

Newport to Cuttyhunk: ~4hr

  • Little wind so only sailed a little chunk
  • Sunny and 80 degrees made the passage so pleasant
  • Long hike (with ticks, wouldnt do this one part again)
  • Long soak in the mooring field 
  • Raw barge with fresh oysters and clam chowder, a highlight of the trip

Cuttyhunk to Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard: 3hrs

  • Very foggy ealy passage through quicks hole
  • Caught the current perfectly for 9kt motor (zero wind) 
  • Oak bluffs is full of gingerbread houses and very lively restaurants
  • Rented bikes to visit Edgartown, South Beach, and stopped at Bad Martha's Brewery on the way home
  • Herb and Wendy ferried in for dinner at Red Cat 
  • Next day and we walked to Vineyard Haven before taking off for Nantucket

Oak Bluffs to Nantucket: 4hrs

  • Perfect close reach in 17-23kts and some passing fog
  • The THICK fog coming through nantucket channel was spooky especially since we follower Linx, the tall ship local to this area
  • Grabbed a mooring ball and wandered into the BBQ joing for delicious dinner
  • Liz and Voctor arrived the next day and we rented bikes to see Cisco Brewery and the beach
  • Dinner at Galley Beach was exteremly picturesque

Nantucket to Hyannis: by ferry 1hr

  • Very easy and convenient ferry back to Hyannis 
  • Rented a car and drove 9hrs home with a stopf for Jersey pizza at Sfizio Pizza

Left the boat up there for the summer and looking forward to some amazing trips!
