Our Women's team on Break Away practiced for months to prepare for the regatta. Mostly on Monday evenings plus we were all of course racing either on Break Away or various other boats throughout the season. We had our practice race on 8/17- CRAB Cup. Crew included our Women Veterans: Claire C (main trim), Brie R., (Bow) and Carlyn (Pit). Plus crew Emma R. (Mast, Port Jib), Brooke E. (Spin trim), Antoinette W. on Port Jib plus squirrel, and Terri S. was our alternate and Pit coach. We had a really great day and finished overall 18th out of 19 boats. Very competitive teams with pro sailors and teams and individuals from US and Canada. We all weighed in ahead of time. We all had team shirts and hats which I had ordered. Great fun! Party was great. We honored Maggie Flanagan who was a member of the J105 Women's Regatta community who died on 8/17. We had her photo hanging up in our cabin and a sticker on the boom with her name on it.
