It's time to step up and serve, and here's one way. The Baltimore County Sailing Center is participating in the Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and DC Day to Serve. And they need help derigging and putting away boats for the winter.
"This is our second year participating with the Maryland Day to Serve," says Eileen Fahrmeier, programs director athe the BCSC.
"Last year we had eight new volunteers from outside BCSC and our known volunteers. They were great! They were enthusiastic and wanted to know more about our programming. We are a non-profit, and one of our most difficult days is our fall derigging day. The only way to keep our boats in good condition for as long as possible is to care for them properly. Every year the masts need to be dropped, and the boats need to be moved uphill and flipped. It's hard work!"
