His onboard technology may have failed, but Facebook has not. In case you've been offline all day, Robert Suhay, who's sailing solo 300+ miles from Norfolk to near Chestertown and back on a 14-foot Laser, has had phone connectivity issues, so the world is relying on sailors with good eyes to tell us where he is. Here's an update from his wife:
Robert has been spotted thanks to Ashley Haines of Norfolk State University who heard from my chess pal Dr. Arthur Bowman about Rob's quest. Ashley's Facebook pal Maury Niebur saw her posting on Facebook asking for anyone on the water to look for him. GO FACEBOOK. Kicking Twitter's a$$ for help today. This was shot off of Thomas Point.
Rob was cooking along at 8-9 knots heading toward Annapolis. According to Maury Rob's in fine form and spirit. We have Greg Lanese up in Annapolis spotting right now. WOOT!
