When we launched the 2014 SpinSheet Century Club, a challenge to readers to get on the water 100 days in the calendar year, we weren't sure how it would be received. It was an experiment. Within the first 100 days of the year, the first centurions started to send in their log books and photos. By July, more sailors hit the 100 mark. In late fall, we heard from the rest on their mad dash to hit 100.
Last Saturday afternoon, 35 of the 45 members of the exclusive SpinSheet Century Club (and their shore support crew) met at the Boatyard Bar & Grill to celebrate their achievements, gather their SpinSheet 100 burgees, and swap sailing stories.
Thank you to senior editor Duffy Perkins whose "experiment" was a smashing success. We expect the 2015 SpinSheet Century Club to triple in size. Will you leave the dock (by sail, power, kayak, paddleboard) 100 days in 2015? Start keeping a log. Send photos and questions to [email protected]. Congrats to 2014 centurions. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
