The East Coast is certainly getting lucky with all of the buzz for the next America's Cup, set to happen in 2017 in Bermuda. New York City has recently been named the next site for the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series regatta, happening May 7 and 8.

Racing is set to take place off the Battery Park City Esplanade, and Jimmy Spithill aims to make this a show New Yorkers won't forget. "Once you see these things tearing around the Hudson, they (New Yorkers) won't be able to walk past without stopping and just being in a bit of shock, I reckon," he told the New York Times.
The World Series events will be raced in AC45s, which are highly maneuverable and easy to transport around the globe. The boats used in the final regatta in Bermuda will also be smaller than the AC72s, which were raced in San Francisco in 2013, in an attempt to lower costs. The AC45s will still offer some of the best on-your-seat excitement as the bigger catamarans, though.
