Early this morning, around 4:30 a.m., a massive fire broke at Dozier Yachting Center in Urbanna, VA. Fire crews from around Middlesex County, along with the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Virginia State Police battled the flames as the sun rose, and the blaze was marked under control around 7:30 a.m. Around 50 boats were damaged.
Two buildings on the property have been completely destroyed, 20 boats have been destroyed, and there are two confirmed fatalities. The identities of the victims have not been released. As of yet, the cause of the blaze is unknown but is part of an ongoing criminal investigation. The environmental impact is being overseen by the U.S. Coast Guard.
