Bonnie officially became a Century Club member in late October. Here is her account of 100 days on the water.
"43 of my days were race days, Wednesday nights, some Fridays and every weekend the J-30's raced and a few more.
I took my own J-30, Bear Away out 13 times and bought a blow-up kayak at the end of the year to fill in a few extra days and more importantly to try to build some upper arm strength. This getting old stuff is for the birds. I've counted 6 work days so far but have spent 4 or 5 nights a week on for the past 7 and a half months curling up in my little v-berth and waking up to Back Creek in the morning.
I travel as much as possible and everywhere I go I find a way to be on the water. I took 2 boat trips in Japan and 2 in Guatemala. In Italy I went to the Lake Country and found myself on the lakes 8 times in 14 days. I took a cruise ship for 7 days, did water taxis in Fort Lauderdale and Baltimore and hopped aboard anytime anyone I knew with a boat said "wanna go for a ride".
I got the cold from hell at the beginning of October and had to give up kayaking but snuck in just enough sailboat rides, so that Saturday october 18th, with my hardy crew for the day along, we went out and put up the main and didn't get blown over or off the boat in the 30 know gusts but sailed for an hour and came back to the dock to open a bottle of champagne and toast the fact that I had finally joined the club."
Congratulations, Bonnie!
