"What You Need" Seminar to be hosted at Annapolis Yacht Club for Annapolis to Newport Race Participants on Saturday, March 14
Annapolis Yacht Club will conduct its third seminar in the "What's Next"? Series to help participants prepare for the 2015 Annapolis to Newport Race.
A distinguished panel of offshore racing veterans with expertise in particular areas will provide advice and answer questions.
Seminar #3 called "What You Need" will focus on safety and equipment and what you need to safely sail in an offshore race. There will be a panel discussion followed by break out groups led by experts in the fields of: rigging, sail making, electronics & MOB equipment. Each presenter will bring examples of the various items you’ll need to have on board to ensure a successful AND safe racing experience.
We're pleased to announce that the lead presenter will be Bjorn Johnson, the Executive Director of the Offshore Racing Association, who was previously the Chairman of the US Sailing Safety at Sea Committee that developed the US SER's. Also joining us will be Sarah Switlik, Marketing Manager for Switlik Survival Products who will bring information and examples of life rafts and other survival gear.
