Singles on Sailboats has been busy getting into spring activities, preparing for another active sailing season. These activities included our signature Spring Training event, with over 300 attendees participating in a full day of classes at Anne Arundel Community College on March 16 (during which SpinSheet publisher Mary Ewenson spoke about the upcoming Sailstice DelMarVa Rally).
We also celebrated the equinox with a traditional sock-burning event. Then, we held our annual Dockside Training event, including lessons on use of flares and fire extinguishers, and basic sailing techniques.
Now we move on to what we’re really all about--sailing. May includes numerous day sails throughout the month: our DNR weekend cruise (Granary Creek, Wye Island) May 18-19 and a 3-day Memorial Day cruise. Destination options for the Memorial Day cruise are north to the Sassafras River or south to Trippe Creek, off the Tred Avon River.
As always, we’re hosting Happy Hours every month throughout the membership area (Annapolis, Baltimore, DC, Philadelphia, and points in between). See our website for details on locations and dates. The public is invited to join us there, swap stories, and get to know us.
