Members of the Pearson Sailing Association of the Chesapeake Bay ventured out of winter quarters April 27 to shed their warm socks, burning them in the traditional manner, and to sell/barter unwanted sailing gear.
The traditional flea market, sock-burning, and spring picnic at Oak Harbor Marina attracted 17 sailors, including one who jogged six miles from his boat on the Magothy River. Wares for sale included lanterns, life vests--and mysterious marine parts possibly dating to the last century.
