On April 20, approximately 50 Corinthians gathered at the newly renovated Eastport YC where Greg and Vickie Shea regaled them with tales from their seven year ‘round the globe adventure aboard their 50 foot Valiant ErinBrie.
That the Sheas were able to distill such a rich and extensive journey into one and a half hours is a testament to condensing that only Campbell’s Soup could previously boast! The photographs from their trip took us all along with them as they crossed the oceans, snorkeled with sharks, entered underwater caves in the South Pacific and anchored in remote lagoons. They enjoyed the “local flavor” in each locale they visited, even staying in a couple of spots for six months. Vickie’s favorite part of the whole trip – the long ocean passages with just the two of them. Greg’s favorite part was doing the trip with Vickie!
The Corinthians begin their annual Chesapeake Spring Cruise on May 14 at the Tred Avon YC in Oxford and will head south on the Bay to several familiar ports for the first week which will culminate in Urbanna, VA. Many of the participants will continue on for a second week with destinations to be determined as they go.
