The Sailing Club, Inc. is preparing for the upcoming sailing season with training and the annual meeting:
CPR & FIRST AID TRAINING - March 15, 2014 - This all day class provides certification in both CPR and first aid with a focus on injuries/accidents on the water. The class takes place at a local NJ rescue squad building.
ANNUAL MEETING & LUNCHEON - March 30, 2014 at the Somerset Hills Hotel, Warren, NJ. Trip leaders will present the 2014 trips and the new Board will be introduced. Trips planned include Chesapeake Bay, Maine coastal trip, and the Tilghman Island Day celebration in October. Contact: [email protected]
BASIC SAILING SKILLS - April 26, 2014 - The club started offering this free training class indoors at a local recreation hall when it became clear that splitting the training from the hands-on activities were better delivered in two parts. Hence, navigation, chart reading, standard knots and principles of keelboat maneuvering are covered in the cool days of April in a classroom and hands-on boat handling will follow in the summer during the annual On Water Training weekend out of Rock Hall, Md. On Land and On Water Training classes are taught by club skippers with assistance from club first mates. Preparation is the secret to success, for more details go to club website.
