Old Point Comfort Yacht Club (OPCYC) hosted the York River Yacht Club (YRYC) for a visit the weekend of 28-29 June. Now that Fort Monroe is no longer an active military installation, one of the best marinas in the Southern Chesapeake Bay is now open to the general boating public, making such visits possible. Seven YRC sailboats and crews docked at Old Point Comfort Marina for the evening after the Veteran’s Cup Race held on June 28th. OPCYC members hosted them for a Saturday evening barbeque and Sunday morning breakfast. Photo shows YRC Commodore Dave Wiker presenting a York River Yacht Club Burgee to OPCYC Logistics Commodore June Obrien during the evening’s festivities. It was a pretty well behaved group, but everybody seemed to have a good time.
