Over Memorial Day weekend, the club met at Maryland Yacht Club for dinner and social time. About 10 or 12 members were in attendance.
On June 14th, the Pearson Sailing Association of the Chesapeake Bay held their annual Dun Cove Race. This is a for-fun pursuit race from West River to Blackwalnut point, with a raft-up and party afterwards in Dun Cove on Harris Creek. This was done in conjunction with members of the now defunct Rhode River Boat Club. We had the best wind in 12 years, which made for a lively race! Seven boats entered the race, only one received a DNF due to mechanical problems, but received an honorable mention for managing to make it to the raft-up anyway! Several more joined the rendezvous forming a raft in Dun Cove where good food, good music and good times were had.
Our July event will be in the Magothy River at the waterfront home of one of our members. We are expecting a dozen or more to be present at this lovely location.
