Volunteers from area yacht clubs and Aerotek Company provided 45 Wounded Warriors and their families with a "Day on the Bay" on August 16 at North Point YC, Sparrows Point. Starting with a welcome ceremony and a honor guard, the Wounded Warriors and families were then treated to a picnic lunch before leaving for a 2 hours cruise to Baltimore's Inner Harbor aboard one of 32 boats, passing Fort Carroll & Fort McHenry.

Upon their return to the club, they were invited to enjoy bushels of crabs and pounds of shrimp from Captain Jimmy's Seafood.

Event chairman, John Polek of Galloway Yacht Club, wishes to thank Wounded Warrior Project Outreach Coordinator Katie Kilby, WJZ TV's Marty Bass for being MC, the employees of Aerotek and all of the volunteers from North Point, Galloway, Eastern, Red Eye, Sue Haven, White Rocks, Wellwood, Pleasant, and Middle River Yacht Clubs, Marley Boat Club and Veterans Yacht Club Association for their help and dedication to this memorable annual event. Polek also thanks the many corporate sponsors and food donors who made the day possible."
