Old Point Comfort Yacht Club (OPCYC) hosted the Cape Charles Yacht Club (CCYC) for a visit Saturday, August 23. Fort Monroe, OPCYC’s home and one of the best marinas in the Southern Chesapeake Bay, is now open to the general boating public which makes such visits possible.
Four CCYC sailboats and crews, led by Vice Commodore Stuart Smith, docked at Old Point Comfort Marina for the day after the Thimble Shoal Challenge held on Aug 23. Several more couples drove to Fort Monroe from Cape Charles to participate in the hospitality exchange.
CCYC hosted OPCYC over a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. OPCYC reciprocated by hosting CCYC for a Saturday evening buffet. Photo shows OPCYC Rear Commodore for Training, Jeff Rogers, presenting his very popular course on Tides and Currents in the Chesapeake to members of both yacht clubs.
