Ah, Labor Day
The Philadelphia Sailing Club set sail on Labor Day weekend from Haven Harbor on the charter boats Wind Dancer and Jenny Ann. We anchored the first night in the Rhode River behind the big island, a favorite club place. There we met up with members Bruce Govan and Steve Craig on their own boats. Bruce recently bought a vintage wood motor sailor, which all of us admired.
The second night was spent in Granary Creek in the Wye River; I had forgotten how beautiful the Wye is. And, it wasn't crowded!! Saturday and Sunday were picture perfect Chesapeake sailing days. Monday well, hm, started off with drizzle and ended up hot with no wind, but, that gave us an excuse to linger over breakfast. (no one has ever gone hungry on one of our club trips)
It was our 7th trip of the year- AND - we still have two more trips this season.
We welcome sailors of all levels from the Mid-Atlantic region. So, if you want to sail, a little, a lot, or just more, please check us out.
