Potomac River Power Squadron Celebrates 100 Years

Potomac River Squadron's founding member and Past Chief Commander United States Power Squadrons Dr. Adolphus B. Bennett taken about 1964. Bennett served as Potomac River's commander from 1915 through 1924. He was the only two-time Chief Commander of United States Power Squadrons. Potomac River Power Squadron will celebrate its 100th Anniversary at a gala dinner dance on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Capitol Skyline Hotel, Washington, DC. The event also serves as the squadron change of watch ceremony.

Potomac River Squadron received it charter from United States Power Squadrons as the Washington, D.C. squadron on May 25, 1915. Chief Commander Robert Baldridge, SN, and District 5 Commander Jim Colston, AP, and officials of the District of Columbia will attend.
