The Chesapeake Bristol Club 2015 season was kicked off with the 5th annual January Theater and Dinner event. Hosted by the Clopps, in keeping with our nautical focus, the Annapolis Compass Rose Theater was the play Murder in the Cathedral, a story of Thomas Beckett’s martyrdom. The artistic director wants to focus on "works of art that do more than entertain but also pose questions of love, power and death." It is a play that has never been staged in Annapolis, and is more often performed in churches than in theaters.
Following the performance the CBC members (Prue Clopp sans Bob who was ill, Val and Jane Taliaferro, Deb and Ken Coons, Peter and Margaret Madden, and Marty and Joyce Suydam) had a wonderful Italian meal at Carpaccio Kitchen across the street from the theater.
