The Chesapeake Bay Alberg 30 One-Design Association ended their yearlong celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Association with a well-attended 50th Annual Meeting on January 10th at O’Callaghan’s Hotel in Annapolis.

Over 100 members and guests enjoyed an evening of fine dining, awards, and remembrances of 50 years of racing, cruising, and great friendships. One notable award presented was the Plank Owners Award, which is an award that was given to the surviving founding members of the Association. On hand to receive one of the Plank Awards was Rolph “Towney” Townshend, a well-known Annapolis sailor, a record setting eight-time winner of the Jack Martin Memorial High Point Trophy for the Alberg 30. The award was presented by Jim Mennucci, the Chairman of the 50th Committee.
