The last week in May, the Annapolis Sailors Club (ASC) had our Third Annual Ridout Creek Raftup & Pot Luck with 17 member boats sailing in for the night. We dinghy'd-in to shore for some awesome food and camaraderie, hosted by sailor Randy Holl.
We just scheduled a simiilar sail-in and pot luck event on the Wye River for late August. Club day sails (post-sail gatherings) are in the works for areas including Annapolis, Pasadena, Rock Hall, Deale, Chester, and Baltimore. Sailing clubs in these areas are invited to join us on the water. Contact us for the dates.
ASC sailors are looking forward to participating in the upcoming Hospice Cup (Sept 19th) and are starting to build our teams to race, both in the Hospice Class as well as the more competitive classes. We raised more than $12,800 last year as a club and hope to contribute this year equally as well. We've also been busy scheduling fall trainings - so far scheduled are Marine Weather 1, 2 & 3 and Medical Emergencies at Sea: Beyond Basics. We are very excited be one of the sponsors for the October 11 & 12 Ultimate Cruising Symposium at MITAGS in Linthicum, MD (Bohlen, Wall, Rousmaniere, Chesneau).
The Annapolis Sailors Club is welcoming new members (sailor membership is $50 per year). For more information or to join, email [email protected]. We are on Facebook and our primary club site is meetup.com/Annapolis-Sailors-Club.
