Corinthian Annapolis Fleet Elects New Fleet Captain

Clearly the best way to guarantee a quorum at an Annual Meeting is to serve cocktails and brunch! Once again this plan worked well for The Corinthian Annapolis Fleet on Sunday, December 6, at the Kent Island Yacht Club when close to 90 members and guests assembled for the traditional Eggnog Holiday Party and Annual Meeting.

Fortified with plentiful adult beverages and a magnificent buffet lunch the fleet voted to elect Hank Recla as the new Fleet Captain for 2016. Hank took the opportunity to name and introduce his fleet afterguard, and shortly afterwards presented outgoing Fleet Captain, Julian Bigden, with an engraved pewter tankard in recognition of his 3 years of energetic leadership. The tankard came complete with a glass bottom to prevent an accidental toast to the Queen, possibly resulting in being pressed into service in the Royal Navy, and thus inadvertently reigniting the War of 1812! thecorinthians.org
