The U.S. Women's Match Racing Championship sponsored by US Sailing took place over the weekend, bringing in some of the country's finest female sailors for excellent boat-on-boat action in Annapolis. Friday and Saturday were each hot as all get out, but Sunday the temps dropped just enough to make a long shirt bearable. The best part? They had some wind!
Nicole Breault and her crew came out on top, winning every race in both the semi-finals and finals against Robyn Lesh and Janel Zarkowsky, respectively. Zarkowsky is a former AYC junior sailor, and is currently a sailing coach at Georgetown University. Watch this nice little interplay between Breault and Zarkowsky during the start of Match 3.
