Every spring as sailing season begins, SpinSheet hosts at least three of our signature Crew Parties to connect sailors. Some of our guests are sailboat owners seeking crew; others are sailors seeking new boats to sail on for the season. Sailing and racing clubs and schools join the fun, as do other exhibitors who’d like to meet new sailors and/or volunteers for their sailing-related programs.
We’ve continued this tradition since 1995, and these parties make up the largest in-person events that SpinSheet Magazine hosts all year long.
This year, we hosted three parties: at the Southern Maryland Sailing Association in Solomons, MD, at Marker 20 in Hampton, VA, and at the Eastport Yacht Club in Annapolis. More than 400 sailors attended our parties in 2024.
For all sailors, regardless of whether or not they attend our parties, we offer a free Crew Finder service. This free service is available to boat owners and crew members of all ages and skill levels wishing to sail more on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. All you have to do is sign up with your email address and explain your sailing experience (if any) and the kind of sailing you hope to do.
