Wish I could have used my Blooper too!

Luna Blu on the first leg headed to Middle Ground Light of an unusually windy OPCYC Round the Lights Race.
Last....again...:(
After a decent start in light winds that went to nothing about halfway up the first leg, the RC called it. Abandoned...
Strong winds and large swells marked this race. Not so much the race itself as after passing Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel it was a spinnaker run to the finish line. But, the trip back was pretty bumpy with gusts to 29 knots and swells at least 5 feet if not higher. It took 4:15 for the racw and 7:28 to sail back to Hampton, fighting an adverse current and beating back to CBBT and Hanmpton.
Beautiful evening for a race, nice breeze, good start, great crew, cold brew, what could be better!
Crusing 2 4th overall, 2 days of light air racing marked by 1 abandoned race, 1 heartbreaking TLE where we were less than a boat length from the finish line and there wasn't een a wisp of breeze to get us across the finish line. Still, a great wekend of sailing and (maybe too much) partying.
Point to Point Race from Old Point Comfort Marina to Salt Ponds Marina, about 6 NM race followed by a pool party
Standard TLE Day 1- tate start, hit the pin, wind died before we got within 2 miles of the finish line. Day 2 we actually had some wind and we finished. Great weekend
Not enough wind to buck the current forced a retirement
6 of 6
At 0300, having just rounded York Spit Light, the wind died to zero and forecast indicated that there wouldn't be any wind until 1030, so we retired. Race Committee took a nice pic of us motoring past the finish line headed back to OPCM.
3rd of 3
Disappointing start, placed 6th of 6 boats
20 Skippers and one crew!!!!
