Adams Cup Reunion and Panel discussion with Dawn Riley at National Sailing Hall of Fame in Annapolis: May 19-21
The Adams Cup Reunion, sponsored by Gowrie group and hosted by the National Sailing Hall of Fame unfolds May 19-21, in Annapolis. This weekend event is for all past Adams Cup participants, including those who sailed in the preliminaries, finals, and/or race committee. Participants will share sailing stories, go sailing, celebrate women in sailing and engage the next generation.
On Saturday morning there will be a free panel discussion lead by Dawn Riley which is open to all sailors, including junior sailors, on the topic of "Engaging Sailing’s Next Generation." Other speakers, panelists, and sponsors of this event include, Rachael Miller, Dawn Riley, Jan O’Malley, Pam Healy, Louisa Chaffee, Gowrie Group, Oakcliff Sailing Center, and the Rozalia Project. As CEO and captain of America True, Dawn Riley, now the executive director of Oakliff Sailing, was the first woman to manage an America’s Cup sailing team. She has raced on four America’s Cup and two Whitbread (now Volvo Ocean Race) teams. She is the former president of the Woman’s Sports Foundation, served on the board of US Sailing, and is an advisor to several public service organizations.
Oakliff Sailing Center, located in Oyster Bay, NY, is dedicted to putting American sailors back on the podium. Among its programs are training, corporate teambuilding, offshore and inshore racing, match racing, and more.
The National Sailng Hall of Fame promotes sailing by preserving America’s sailing legacy and engages the next generation by sharing the benefits, excitement and beauty of sailing.
