AYC Doublehanded Distance Race
Annapolis Yacht Club (AYC) hosted its first ever Doublehanded Distance Race from noon Saturday through noon on Sunday. NEPTUNE’S ATLANTIC REGATTA
This annual fall regatta, administered by Broad Bay Sailing Association in conjunction with the VAB Neptune Festival, was blessed with gentle yet very “raceable” breezes throughout the pursuit start Saturday morning at the mouth of Little Creek (Norfolk). Even though the breeze waned a bit, there was enough to fly spinnakers down the oceanfront shoreline, almost to the finish line.
Twenty (20) of the twenty-two (22) entered raced and of those, 18 finished.
RESULTS:
PHRF A (6 boats): 1.Don DeLoatch, Riff Raff; 2.Neil Ford and Lis Biondi Ford, Danger Paws; 3.Christian Schaumloffel, Myrage.
