I think that the last two weeks of February are the longest two weeks of the year. It is a cruel two weeks when we are teased by temperatures in the 50s, but then it always has one more cold snap left in it to remind us that it is still winter. I look out on the water and keep checking the weather predictions to see if the overnight temps will be above freezing. Not sure if I should put away the winter coat yet.
So I sit here looking out the window, mentally planning day sails and bike rides that will not get on the calendar until the weather breaks. It is agonizing. I know that the day will come when I will wake up and forget about how long those last two weeks were, the last ones in February. I know that it will all be a memory that I will soon forget as I am consumed with all the outdoor activities, like climatological amnesia.
For now I just wait, not so patiently.
