I've come to realize that is not about speed or even the duration of the time on the water, but rather just being out there and enjoying the moment. A short paddle to the dead trees and back provided a nice view of a beautiful osprey.

Somehow, we missed the start badly. It looked like the entire fleet was early, but we were very late! We need to do better in this department! We ended up finishing 4th by 4 seconds on a shortened course. Damn!
Not out best sailing, but with Steve on vacation and Jay at the helm, at least we did not hit any other boats.
We were tired after the previous day's marathon to Lookout Point, but we saved our best for Sunday! With Joe on fore deck, Jessica and Tommy on sheets and Steve as tactician, we sailed our hearts out! We were fouled at the windward mark and protested Race 1, as we finished second. We raced "clean" in second race and took first in that race and first overall on the day. We were all happy with the results!
The wind did not cooperate all day but when it did, we had some nice sailing! We retired at 8:45 p.m.
This weekend, this fearless band of adventurers bravely paddled 7 1/2 miles of the South Fork of the Shenandoah River and then camped in the Shenandoah State Park in Virginia. How else would we spend Father’s Day?
On Wednesday night in Solomons, the forecast was for strong winds early before settling down as the race went on. The forecast was indeed correct, and we were ready! We started with reefed sails and put out more sail at the first mark. And, we had fun! #sailingteambarbaroja #poppabobscanvas
I went for a good, quick 1-mile kayak run north to the cliffs where there are multiple trees down. Good pace. Good workout.
After replacing the stay sail topping lift and the auto pilot belt, I decided to test the AP by motoring up the creek to the Holiday Inn and back. It works! Fantastic!
Against a chop and a steady breeze, I paddled to the Breezy Point property line and back.
