Had a nice daysail across Charlotte Harbor to the Myakka River. It is finally warm enough on the water after the Polar Vortex earlier this month to break out the shorts. Sky was a beautiful blue with winds in the 10 to 13 knot range making for a fast sail.

I sailed to Cotton Key Shoal in a light east wind in the 5 to 8 knot range. Weather was sunny and warm with the temperature on the water around 78 degrees. On the return trip the wind died and I had to motor the rest of the way home.
Had a nice afternoon sail across Charlotte Harbor. There was lots of sunshine and the temperature made it into the upper 70's but it was several degrees cooler on the water. Saw a sistership of my Precision 23 sailboat out sailing along with many boats out fishing.
After a week of unusually cold and rainy weather due to the polar vortex, there was finally a decent day and I took a late afternoon sail across Charlotte Harbor. The air temperature was in the low 70's but due to the 57 degree water temperature it was a bit chilly on the open water. Still there was a gentle breeze in the 5 to 10 knot range and beautiful blue skies. At the end of the sail as I was heading inside my condo, I saw a beautiful sunset.
Had a nice daysail to Locust Point in 10-12 knots of wind. Tide is one of the lowest ones I have sailed in. Good thing my boat only draws 2 feet of water.
Had a pleasant late afternoon sail on Charlotte Harbor with a nice breeze around 10-12 knots.
Had an excellent daysail to the Myakka River. Temperatures finally got back to normal after a week of chilly weather. Lots of sunshine today and steady wind with temperatures in the 70's to low 80's.
Did an afternoon sail across Charlotte Harbor. Sky was overcast for most of the sail (so much for the weather forecast for sunny weather) but the wind was steady so I just locked down the tiller and enjoyed the boat sailing itself. Some blue sky finally appeared as I was heading back to the dock.
Just returned to Punta Gorda, FL for the winter and went on my first sail of 2025. Tide was the lowest I had ever seen leaving Alligator Creek. Sailed south on Charlotte Harbor toward Burnt Store Marina in beautiful weather. On the sail back I was sailing a beam reach on the same course as several boats that were 10 to 15 feet longer than me and I pulled ahead of them. Not bad for a 23 foot sailboat.
Took a neighbor sailing on Charlotte Harbor. Weather was perfect and we had a great time.
